Air compressors for KAHD

Design · 2024–2025 · KAHD

KAHD makes air compressors. The range is called ABOT, which is short for Air Blast On Tap. While I was working with them they finished a new model called the ABOT Pro, so the range went from one product to three. The original stayed on the market as the ABOT Lite, and then there's a high-pressure tank that docks to either of them.

This was my first ever web build. The site is WordPress, put together in Elementor, and I picked it up as I went along.

Not all of it is mine, though. KAHD gave me the compressor models, and the designer before me did the hero video, the nav and the footer, along with some of the artwork. Mine is the texturing and lighting, the three product pages, the icons that went onto the machines, and the brochure.

The site

The range had grown but the site was still only talking about one product, so I rebuilt the middle of it around three.

The Our Product Range section of kahd.co.za: three cards side by side for ABOT Pro, ABOT Lite and ABOT Tank, each in its own colour with a render and four feature lines

The renders

The models came from KAHD as CAD, with no materials on them. I helped texture the new Pro, and then went back over the Lite and the Tank as well, because they had to match it. Every product image on the site and in the brochure is a Blender render.

The three products side by side in a Blender viewport, materials applied, on the grid floor of the working file
The Pro and the tank docked together at the edge of a workbench, a mountain bike wheel resting against them

Icons

The Pro's control plate has all its modes and warnings printed on it. I drew that set, and it went out as DXF and STL for the plate itself.

The ABOT Pro icon set: Light On, Release, Set Mode, DPS On, Compressor On, Set Pressure, Power On and Charge
Close render of the Pro's control plate, the same icons around the pressure display and the mode buttons
One of those QR codes goes to an operational overview and the other one to safety information.

The brochure

An A4 trifold, using the same renders. The inside is the same three-product layout as the site, and it's the file behind the Download PDF Flyer button.

The trifold open on a pale surface, its three product panels facing up, with the folded cover leaning across them
The outside of the trifold: the ABOT wordmark and Revolutionizing Portable Inflation, a workshop photograph and a mud-spraying truck, with the three products down the right
The inside of the trifold: the three products as coloured panels with feature lists, each with a headline and two detail shots underneath
